Request System Overview
Jellyseerr URL: rqst.fin.hub22.uk
SeaFin uses standard Jellyseerr for content requests - a web interface that connects to movie/TV databases and triggers automated downloads.
How Jellyseerr Actually Works
🔍 Search-Based System:
- Search for movies/TV shows by title
- Jellyseerr shows if content is Available or Requestable
- No custom request forms - everything is search-driven
📋 Two Main Actions:
- Request New Content - Click "Request" button on search results
- Report Issues - Click orange triangle (🔺) on available content
⚡ Automated Process:
- Your requests trigger automated downloads
- Admin gets notifications for new requests
- Processing time varies by content availability
What You Can Do
✅ Request New Content:
- Movies and TV shows not currently available
- Automatically triggers download process
- No need for detailed descriptions
✅ Report Issues with Existing Content:
- Wrong language/audio track
- Poor quality (cam recordings, low resolution)
- Broken streams or playback problems
- Missing episodes or seasons
❌ Cannot Do:
- Add custom notes to requests (search and click request only)
- Request specific quality levels during initial request
- Request "offline copies" separately (all content is handled automatically)
How to Use Jellyseerr
Step 1: Search for Content
- Go to rqst.fin.hub22.uk
- Login with your SeaFin credentials (same username/password)
- Search for the movie or TV show you want

Step 2: Request or Report
If Content Shows "Request":
- Click the "Request" button
- Jellyseerr automatically triggers download
- You'll get notified when it's available
If Content Shows "Available":
- Click "Open in Jellyfin" to start watching
- OR click orange triangle (🔺) to report issues

Step 3: Issue Reporting (When Needed)
When to Use Orange Triangle:
- Wrong language/audio track
- Poor video quality (blurry, cam recording)
- Broken playback or streaming issues
- Missing episodes in TV series
Issue Reporting Process:
- Search for the problematic content
- Click orange triangle (🔺) next to the title
- Fill in details about what's wrong:
- "Video is in Russian, need English version"
- "This is a cam recording, need proper quality"
- "Audio out of sync throughout movie"
- "Episode 5 won't play, keeps buffering"
- "Missing last 3 episodes of season"
Be Specific: The more detail you provide, the faster issues get resolved!
Request Processing & Timeline
What Happens After You Request
Immediate:
- Your request triggers automated systems
- Admin gets notification of new request
- Download process begins (if content is available)
Timeline Expectations:
- Popular movies/shows: Often available within hours
- Older or rare content: 1-7 days depending on availability
- Issue fixes: Usually resolved within 24-48 hours
Request Status
No Status Tracking:
- Jellyseerr doesn't show detailed progress
- Content simply appears in SeaFin when ready
- Check your libraries periodically for new additions
Notification System
How You'll Know:
- Content appears in "Recently Added" section
- Check the appropriate library (Clean.Movies, Clean.Shows)
- No email notifications - just check SeaFin regularly
Request Best Practices
Be Specific and Clear
Good Request:
Title: The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Director: Wes Anderson
Starring: Ralph Fiennes
Quality: HD preferred, any quality acceptable
Notes: The comedy-drama film, not any other Budapest-related movies
Poor Request:
Title: That hotel movie
Notes: You know, the funny one
Include Context When Needed
- Why you want it - "For movie night with friends"
- Urgency - "Needed for this weekend" vs "whenever convenient"
- Alternatives - "Similar movies if this isn't available"
One Request Per Submission
Don't bundle multiple requests:
- Submit separate forms for different movies/shows
- This helps with tracking and fulfillment
- Makes it easier to update you on status
Understanding Request Processing
Typical Timeline
- Popular content - 24-48 hours
- Obscure content - 3-7 days
- Complex requests - 1-2 weeks
- Technical fixes - Usually within 24 hours
Factors Affecting Speed
- Content availability - Some content is harder to source
- Server capacity - Storage and bandwidth limitations
- Admin availability - One person manages the system
- Request complexity - Simple additions vs. technical issues
Request Status
You might receive updates via:
- Email notifications (if system supports it)
- Status on request site (if tracking available)
- Content appearing in your library
Common Request Scenarios
Scenario 1: Netflix Removal
"Netflix just removed my favorite show!"
Title: The Office (US Version)
Seasons: All 9 seasons
Reason: Netflix removed it, need alternative access
Priority: High - was watching regularly
Scenario 2: New Release
"I want to see the latest Marvel movie"
Title: [Latest Marvel Movie] (2024)
Type: Movie
Quality: Best available (4K preferred)
Notes: New release, understand if not immediately available
Scenario 3: Streaming Issues
"This keeps buffering"
Title: Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6
Issue: Constant buffering at 30-minute mark
Device: Samsung Smart TV app
Request: Local copy for better reliability
Scenario 4: Missing Episodes
"Some episodes are missing"
Title: Friends Season 5
Issue: Episodes 15-18 missing from library
Request: Complete season with all episodes
