Getting Started

Understanding Content Organization

Learn how SeaFin organizes movies, TV shows, and other content - and why you see duplicate entries

Understanding Content Organization

SeaFin organizes content differently than Netflix or Prime. This guide explains the library structure, content types, and why duplicates are actually helpful.

📱 Quick Navigation (Jump to Section)

SeaFin Library Structure

Your Main Libraries

Clean.Movies - Your primary movie collection

  • Content: Clean, organized movie collection using backend software
  • Sources: Combines online streams + offline storage
  • Best for: General movie browsing
  • Organization: Special software creates proper folder structures and metadata
  • Reliability: Usually stable, but rare/old content may have issues

Clean.Shows - Your primary TV series collection

  • Content: Clean, organized TV series using backend software
  • Sources: Combines online streams + offline storage
  • Best for: General TV show browsing
  • Organization: Special software creates proper folder structures and metadata
  • Reliability: Usually stable, but rare/old content may have issues

Offline.Movies - Guaranteed local copies

  • Content: Locally stored movies
  • Sources: Direct server storage only
  • Best for: When online version has issues
  • Reliability: Always available

Offline.Shows - Guaranteed local copies

  • Content: Locally stored TV series
  • Sources: Direct server storage only
  • Best for: When online version has issues
  • Reliability: Always available

Anime Movies - Animated movie collection

  • Content: Animated movies
  • Sources: Mix of online and offline storage
  • Best for: Anime movie fans
  • Organization: Separate from regular movies

Anime Shows - Animated series collection

  • Content: Animated TV series
  • Sources: Mix of online and offline storage
  • Best for: Anime series fans
  • Organization: Separate from regular TV shows

Offline Anime - Local anime storage

  • Content: Guaranteed anime copies
  • Reliability: Always available

Downloads - Special content collection

  • Content: YouTube videos, Vimeo content, rare shows without torrents
  • Sources: Content downloaded by server admin that doesn't fit elsewhere
  • Best for: Unique content not available in other libraries
  • Note: This is content the admin has downloaded to the server, NOT content you can download to your device
Important Distinction: The "Downloads" library contains content that the server admin has downloaded (YouTube videos, rare content). This is completely different from you downloading content to your personal device, which is not possible in SeaFin.

Audio - Music and audio content

  • Content: Music files, possibly audiobooks
  • Best for: Audio entertainment

Why Duplicate Entries Exist

The Hybrid System Explained

SeaFin uses a sophisticated setup that creates intentional duplicates:

This is by design! Duplicates give you options and reliability:
  • If online version has issues → try offline version
  • If one quality doesn't work → try the other
  • If one source is slow → switch to the backup

Technical Background

Online Content (Zurg + Real Debrid system):

  • Large catalog streamed from online infrastructure
  • Powers the Clean.Movies and Clean.Shows libraries
  • Very stable for popular content
  • Rare or old content ("3 stars from 1962") might be unreliable

The "Clean" Organization Process:

  • Backend software processes all source files automatically
  • Example: Real Debrid tracks a current TV series and adds each episode as separate torrent
  • Problem: This would show as individual series in SeaFin (messy!)
  • Solution: Our software creates proper folder structure /tvshow/season1/ep1, ep2, ep3
  • Result: SeaFin recognizes complete series and applies metadata correctly
  • Benefit: Clean, organized libraries with proper episode ordering and information

Offline Content (Local Storage):

  • Popular movies and user-requested content
  • Stored directly on the 300TB server
  • Guaranteed availability - always works
  • Content added based on popularity and user requests

Library Organization:

  • Clean libraries combine online and offline content for best browsing
  • Offline libraries provide guaranteed access to local copies
  • Specialized libraries (Anime, Downloads) for specific content types

How to Choose Between Duplicates

Decision Tree for Users

When you see the same title multiple times:

  1. Start with Clean libraries (Clean.Movies/Clean.Shows)
    • These are the cleanest and best organized
    • Combine online + offline for best selection
    • Most content available here
  2. If main version doesn't work:
    • Try the offline version (Movies (Offline)/TV Shows (Offline))
    • Usually more reliable for playback
    • May have different quality options
  3. Check Downloads library:
    • Might have special versions
    • For YouTube videos and unique content not in other libraries
    • Different source or quality
  4. Report persistent issues:
    • If all versions have problems
    • Use Jellyseerr to report broken content

Visual Identification

Visual Identification:

  • Library location - Different libraries contain different versions

Content Troubleshooting

When Content Won't Play

Step-by-step approach:

  2. Lower the quality setting (gear icon → lower Mbps)
  3. Check internet connection speed
  4. Try different device to isolate issues
  5. Report via Jellyseerr if all versions fail

Quality Issues

Poor video quality:

  • Try different version - may have better source
  • Increase Mbps setting if internet allows
  • Check if 4K version available in different library
  • Try different version - May have better quality source

Missing Content

Can't find something:

  • Search all libraries - might be in unexpected place
  • Check Downloads - special content location
  • Try different search terms - alternative titles
  • Request via Jellyseerr - add to library
