Step-by-Step Setup

Initial Installation

  1. Download and install the app from your device's app store
  2. Open the Jellyfin app for the first time
  3. Grant permissions when prompted:
    • Storage access - For downloads and cache

SeaFin is streaming-only - content cannot be downloaded to your device. The "Downloads" library refers to server-side content, not device downloads.

Casting to TV Devices

Google Cast / Chromecast Support: SeaFin supports casting to compatible TV devices for big-screen viewing.

Finding the Cast Icon:

  • Location: Top-right corner of the app, next to your profile icon
  • Appearance: Cast icon (rectangle with WiFi-like symbol)
  • Visibility: Only appears when compatible devices are detected

How to Cast:

  1. Ensure devices are connected to the same WiFi network
  2. Open SeaFin mobile app and find content to watch
  3. Tap the cast icon in the top-right corner
  4. Select your TV device from the list (Chromecast, Google TV, etc.)
  5. Start playing content - it will appear on your TV
  6. Use your phone as a remote control
